This ‘ A year of Kindness Acts’ is our invitation to you, to have some fun while creating a lot of unexpected delight and joy for yourself and for the folks around you by offering you 365 days of kindness---a new idea each day of the year, of ways to express kindness through small easy-to-do ‘acts’.

Getting into the habit of kind acts and gestures is one of the best ways we know to counteract feelings of helplessness in the face of the suffering we see, and to contribute to the well being of both yourself and the people you interact with each day.

It is our belief that most people really do want to help each other (see, you are one of them since you are reading this!!), but that often we just don’t have the tools on hand or the ideas don’t come quickly enough to seize the moment and do something wonderful and unexpected.

So here you are! We have done it for you.!!! We have gathered together the best kindness acts---the best of what has been done for us, the best things our friends have done, and ideas people have shared with us of their favorite kindness acts---and put them together for you here. These ideas are doable, simple, and will be sure will spark more ideas of your own.

And here is a little known but profound secret I will share with you…the more kind acts you do, the happier your own life becomes. Guaranteed! Why you ask? Because when your attention is on doing something for someone else a few things happen;

1.You spark your own creativity and sense of fun, which makes you feel happier. Giving feels great!

2.When you put your attention on doing something for someone else, you take your attention off your own problems and fears. This helps lessen anxiety and worry, and vastly improves your own state of health

3.Practicing generosity and kind actions helps to breed a generous open heart and is the best exercise you can do. The more accepting and loving you feel, the lighter you get. Forget calories as a weight loss strategy!

4.The more kindness you share, the deeper your sense of gratitude for your life and for all the gifts that we all too often take for granted.
